Part-Time Personal/Office Assistant

Job Title: Part-Time Personal/Office Assistant (Construction Company)
Location: Hawthorne, NY
Hours: Approx. 15+ hours per week
Salary: Starting at $18-$20 per hour, based on experience

Job Summary
We are a thriving construction company in Hawthorne, NY, seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive individual to join our team as a Part-Time Personal/Office Assistant. This role will be providing both administrative support for our office and personal assistance to the company owner. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented multitasker with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic. Prior experience in the construction industry is a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Office Assistance:

  • Perform general clerical duties, including filing (digital and hard copies), data entry, and managing office supplies.
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and act as a point of contact for clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Support project managers with administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings and coordinating with on-site teams.
  • Run errands: pick up/drop off documents, post office/UPS, pick up lunch, etc. May require travel up to 2 hours away. (company vehicle can be used when available).

Personal Assistance:

  • Assist the company owner with personal scheduling, including appointments and calendar management, organization and other clerical duties.
  • Run errands and handle other personal tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an administrative or personal assistant.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proper phone etiquette
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A resourceful and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle (company vehicle can be used when available)
  • Dress is casual, but may be required to wear business attire for meetings.
  • Professional references must be provided
