Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee the parts department within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and automotive service, with the ability to manage inventory, supplier relationships, and logistics effectively. This role is crucial for ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently, providing excellent customer service while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement and inventory of automotive parts, ensuring availability to meet demand.
- Utilize ERP systems to track inventory levels, orders, and supplier performance.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team for shipping and receiving of parts, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Implement effective demand planning strategies to anticipate needs based on sales forecasts.
- Maintain accurate data entry for inventory control and order management systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting technicians and customers with parts inquiries.
- Monitor warehouse management practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support production requirements and equipment repair needs.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to assist in automotive diagnostics and service-related issues.
Skills
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Proficient in supplier management, including negotiation skills for optimal procurement.
- Experience in automotive diagnostics and repair processes.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and practices.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Proficient in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking maintenance activities.
- Experience with inventory management techniques and best practices.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Experience in logistics, sourcing, and shipping & receiving processes within an automotive context.
- Familiarity with AS400 or similar order management systems is advantageous.
