The Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group of Baker McKenzie seeks a Patent Agent to join any of the following offices: Dallas, TX (preferred); Washington, DC; Houston, TX; or Chicago, IL. Specifically, key responsibilities include: preparing responses to office actions and other US Patent and Trademark (USPTO) communications; studying invention disclosures and preparing patent specifications; performing prior art searches; assisting with litigation and transactional projects; and communicating with clients and foreign counsel.
The ideal candidate will be admitted to the USPTO and have 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience as a patent agent or technical advisor. However, we will also consider entry-level candidates with an interest in patent law and who are eligible for admission to the USPTO. We seek applicants that have the ability to function and collaborate smoothly in a global team environment with culturally diverse team members.
