Labor and Employment Associate
Location: Detroit or Troy, MI

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Associate to join our team. This role involves supporting litigation and traditional labor matters, handling all phases of employment-related cases, and providing high-quality legal research and writing. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and other pleadings.
• Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting requests and responses, preparing initial disclosures, and assisting with witness preparation.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on strategy, document production, and vendor selection.
• Draft responses to EEOC and MDCR charges.
• Participate in motion hearings, mediations, and depositions.
• Prepare trial materials and assist during pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
• Support partner-level attorneys throughout all phases of employment-related litigation and traditional labor matters.

Qualifications:

• 3–6 years of experience in employment litigation and client counseling.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Proven experience managing discovery and preparing case materials.
• Experience with depositions (taking and defending).
• Proficiency with legal research tools, including Westlaw.
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
• Experience with traditional labor matters is a plus.

Education & Licensing:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Michigan State Bar, or eligibility to become admitted promptly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
