We are hiring for a leading Healthcare NGO in Pakistan for their GHARO facility.

Position: Pathologist

Working Days: Monday to Saturday (09:00 AM – 04:00 PM)
Location: GHARO
Salary Range: 180,000 – 220,000 PKR

Job Summary

The Pathologist will oversee all diagnostic laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance of lab results. This role requires strong clinical interpretation, supervision of lab personnel, regulatory adherence, and timely diagnostic support to clinicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and sign off pathology, hematology, microbiology, and biochemistry reports.
• Provide expert consultation on complex or critical diagnostic findings.
• Ensure implementation of QA/QC protocols.
• Supervise lab personnel and monitor equipment performance.
• Coordinate with clinicians for result interpretation and further testing guidance.
• Develop and update SOPs for lab testing and biosafety.
• Participate in proficiency testing and external QA programs.
• Support training and capacity-building of lab staff.
• Ensure compliance with PMDC, PHL, and regulatory standards.

Academic Qualification

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree (PMDC/PMC recognized)

Professional Qualification

• FCPS/MCPS in Clinical Pathology
• Valid PMDC/PMC license

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years post-specialization experience in a pathology laboratory
• Experience in hematology, histopathology, and clinical pathology preferred

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits and ensure lab accreditation readiness
• Advise on procurement of reagents and laboratory equipment
• Support digital reporting systems and EMR integration
• Mentor junior pathologists or medical officers (if required)
