Pathologist- Nauru Deployment

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pathologist to join our healthcare team in the Republic of Nauru. This role is critical to supporting the diagnostic services and overall quality of care at our facility. You will oversee laboratory operations, interpret test results, and contribute to clinical decision-making in a low-resource but high-impact setting. Positions are open for short-term contracts or longer-term deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret a wide range of pathological examinations, including hematology, microbiology, histopathology, and clinical chemistry
• Provide timely and accurate diagnostic reports to support patient care
• Collaborate with clinicians to guide diagnosis and treatment plans
• Supervise and support laboratory technicians and staff
• Ensure quality control and compliance with lab safety protocols
• Participate in clinical governance, audits, and laboratory process improvements
• Assist in the training and development of local laboratory personnel

Essential Criteria

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Pathology (Clinical or Anatomical)
• Fully licensed and registered to practice as a pathologist in your home country
• Minimum 5 years post-specialist experience preferred
• Strong experience in diagnostic pathology, laboratory management, and reporting
• Previous work in resource-limited or remote environments is a strong advantage
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills
