JOB SUMMARY

The Patient Account Specialist for Value-Based RCM, Inc. (VBRCM) is responsible for managing inbound and outbound calls related to patient accounts, all while ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Use, protect, and disclose patient protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
• Exhibit professional behavior and communication skills representative of VBRCM's commitment to superior customer service
• Interact with patients via phone, email, or online chat to provide support and information on their account or upcoming procedure, using professional telephone etiquette
• Assist patients with inquiries regarding their account, charge descriptions and insurance Coordinate with various departments within VBRCM to ensure patient requests are handled appropriately and timely
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and services within the department and company Maintain a strong knowledge of client processes
• Support team through strong attendance and performance Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, including active listening
• Working knowledge of EOB’s, CPT and DX codes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI guidelines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability and desire to work in a remote environment
  
  

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Healthcare customer service experience required
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

JOB TYPE: Full-time

HOURLY RATE: $17 - $19 per hour

JOB LOCATION: Work from home
