Patient Care Assistant (Derma/Plastic Surgery)

Job Summary

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct support to patients and assists healthcare professionals in dermatology and plastic surgery settings. The role focuses on ensuring patient comfort, assisting with clinical procedures, and maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses and physicians during dermatology and plastic surgery procedures.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and minor surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, reporting any changes to the clinical team.
  • Maintain patient hygiene, including pre- and post-procedure care.
  • Record patient vital signs and document observations accurately.
  • Educate patients on post-treatment care, wound management, and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterility of treatment rooms and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management of clinical supplies and medications.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and hospital/clinic policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate/Diploma in Nursing or Healthcare Assistant preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, or cosmetic medical settings.
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Ability to provide compassionate and professional patient care.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining patient records and documentation.
