Patient Care Assistant, PICU
Shriners Children’s Philadelphia is where hope and healing meet. Our team of highly specialized physicians provides comprehensive care for children with fractures, sports injuries, orthopedic conditions, scoliosis, spinal cord conditions, and spine injuries.
We have an opportunity for a full-time Patient Care Assistant in our PICU.
- Assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned
- Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families
- Monitors children’s activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children
- Answers telephones, triages phone calls appropriately
- Completes purchase orders for PICU and inpatient unit
- Maintains unit supplies and monitors’ inventory
- Assists with routine secretarial assistance such as copying, faxing, and typing
- Assist with patient transport
- Schedule appointments with consultants, radiology, and other imaging services
- Assists with performance improvement processes and gathering data

Required:
High School Diploma / GED
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Preferred:
One year of pediatric experience
