- Patient education and counselling - Explain eye conditions (such as cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors, retina disorders, etc.) and treatment options to patients and their families.
- Counsel patients regarding surgical procedures, expected outcomes, and possible complications in an empathetic and understandable manner.
- Clarify doubts regarding surgery, recovery, and follow-up schedules.
- Coordinate with doctors, optometrists, operation theatre, and nursing staff for surgery scheduling.
- Ensure all pre-surgery investigations, consent forms, and patient instructions are completed.
- Maintain accurate surgery registers and patient counselling records.
- Explain surgery cost details, available packages, and insurance coverage options.
- Support patients in completing insurance or reimbursement-related documentation.
- Liaise with billing and finance teams to ensure transparency in payments.
- Educate patients about pre-operative preparations and post-operative care instructions.
- Follow up with patients after surgery to ensure adherence to medication and follow-up visits.
- Handle patient feedback and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Promote hospital services and build trust among patients and attendants.
