  • Patient Interaction & Communication:
  • Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries via phone, email, or live chat, ensuring clarity and understanding regarding billing statements, insurance claims, and payment options.
  • Address patient concerns or complaints related to medical bills, providing support and solutions for any discrepancies or misunderstandings.
  • Guide patients through the medical billing process, helping them understand charges, insurance coverage, and payment responsibilities.
  • Provide clear and accurate information about billing policies, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Billing Issue Resolution:
  • Investigate and resolve billing inquiries, discrepancies, or errors by reviewing patient accounts, claims, and payment history.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve outstanding patient billing issues.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior billing or management staff, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining patient satisfaction.
  • Documentation & Record Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, inquiries, and issues in the customer service management system.
  • Update patient billing information and document the outcome of all interactions to ensure proper tracking and follow-up.
  • Assist with processing patient payments, including setting up payment plans, if applicable.
  • Patient Advocacy & Education:
  • Serve as an advocate for the patient by helping them navigate complex insurance and billing systems.
  • Educate patients about insurance benefits, coverage limits, and the importance of timely payments, ensuring they fully understand their financial obligations.
  • Assist with insurance claim submissions and follow up with insurance companies to ensure claims are processed efficiently.
  • Quality Control & Feedback:
  • Collect patient feedback on their billing experience and report any areas of improvement to the management team.
  • Ensure that all patient inquiries are addressed within the specified timeframe and that all patient concerns are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Promote a positive image of the company through professional interactions and commitment to patient satisfaction.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:
  • Work closely with billing, coding, and insurance teams to ensure accurate billing and coding of patient services.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of training materials for new staff members regarding patient billing processes and customer service best practices.
  • Help identify areas where patient education or company procedures can be improved to streamline the billing experience.
