The full-time Patient Services Representative serves as a welcoming and professional first point of contact. As part of the team, you will help create a supportive and approachable environment for each patient.
<Responsibilities>
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and facilitate insurance verification to ensure accurate billing.
- Schedule patient appointments using an electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collect and verify patient information, update medical records, and ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies
- Answer phone calls professionally, addressing questions on various topics.
- Communicate clearly and effectively to address patient concerns or questions.
- Coordinating in-coming referrals and generating referrals to other doctors
<Requirements>
- Experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with familiarity in medical administrative support or front desk duties is helpful.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as AdvancedMD is a plus.
- Understanding of medical terminology,, Medicare processes, and health information management standards.
- Excellent computer skills; ability to navigate multiple software platforms efficiently.
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
