Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and compassionate Patient Service Representative with Medical Billing experience to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients while also supporting critical revenue cycle and billing operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesFront Office & Patient Services
- Greet patients professionally and create a welcoming environment
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; update patient demographics accurately
- Schedule appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Manage multi-line phone systems and respond to patient inquiries promptly
- Assist with patient intake, including medical histories and documentation
Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle
- Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers)
- Review claims for accuracy, including CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers prior to submission
- Work denials, rejections, and underpayments to ensure maximum reimbursement
- Post payments (ERA/EOB) and reconcile accounts
- Handle patient billing inquiries and explain charges, balances, and payment options
- Perform medical collections and follow up on outstanding balances
- Maintain compliance with payer guidelines and billing regulations
Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records in accordance with HIPAA
- Perform data entry, filing, and general office support tasks
- Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to ensure clean claims and efficient workflow
- Document patient interactions and billing updates within EMR systems
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and revenue cycle management
- Experience working with EMR systems (Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Therapy Notes, or TheraNest)
- Solid understanding of insurance verification, claims processing, and denial management
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail — billing errors cost money, and we don’t like that
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Bilingual candidates are highly preferred
Minimum Qualifications
- Some college or certification in healthcare, medical billing, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of medical office experience
- Minimum 3 years of front desk and/or medical billing experience
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
