Patient Services Supervisor – Full-Time Position – Raleigh Location
We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Supervisor to lead and support our Patient Services Representative team. In this role, you will oversee front office operations, ensure efficient patient registration and scheduling processes, and help maintain a high level of customer service across clinic locations. This position works closely with leadership to support workflow, resolve patient account issues, and ensure the team delivers an excellent patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Patient Services Representatives across assigned locations
- Manage PSR schedules to ensure proper staffing and coverage, including Urgent Care locations
- Monitor patient registration processes to ensure accurate demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance coverage, authorizations, and referrals prior to scheduled appointments
- Oversee daily posting of patient charges and payments and ensure accurate cash handling procedures
- Assist in identifying and resolving billing, collections, and insurance processing issues
- Collaborate with the Patient Services Manager and billing teams on delayed or denied claims
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new PSR team members
- Provide input for employee performance evaluations and ongoing team development
- Monitor lobby and patient waiting areas to ensure a welcoming and organized environment
- Prepare reports and track metrics related to scheduling, billing, and front office operations
- Lead team meetings and communicate updates to improve efficiency and patient satisfaction
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in medical front office operations, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to remain professional and composed in high-pressure situations
- Experience with Practice Management systems (Athena or similar) and Electronic Health Records
- Knowledge of medical records processes and release of information procedures
