Summary:
Leads a team in the transportation of patients to their inpatient bed and/or to and from other areas such as admitting, surgery, therapy, or radiology in a safe and timely manner. Improves the flow of the department by answering calls and serving as the liaison between the transporters and the clinical departments. Addresses issues and develops solutions proactively. Ensures productivity measures are met by assigning wheelchairs to be rounded up, equipment to be cleaned, and/or transporters to be assigned to clinical areas to help when it is slow. Optimizes service by helping transport, completing equipment calls, or filling in for transporters or equipment cleaning personnel when necessary. Is the point of contact for Clinical Directors when the manager is out.
