Payable Services Call Center Representative Accounting Assistant

THE POSITION

Come join our proactive team of call center agents who use their excellent customer service and communication skills to assist new and established Pennsylvania vendors. This small, yet cohesive group, responds to live calls and e-mailed payment inquiries throughout their workday. They also support the unit by making outgoing calls to provide additional information or clarification to vendors. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Payable Services Call Center Representative, you are the first point of contact for live inbound or outbound calls, the payment inquiry email resource account, and documents through the Microsoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This position provides customer service to vendors and agency personnel through utilizing courteous, respectful, empathetic, and professional, forms of communication. Answering and initiating phone calls and emails play a major role in requesting invoice status, invoice payments, remittance information, and vendor master data issues. You will provide a daily stats report for all activities performed and documented as well as any communication that suggests, implies, or declares fraud or loss of monies which potentially have negative consequences for vendors or the Commonwealth and escalate as directed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Alternate Work Schedule available upon completion of probationary period.
  • Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. More details can be provided during the interview process.
  • Salary: All new hires to the Commonwealth will start at the minimum salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  • An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must have at least one year of experience working with SAP accounting software.
  • You must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Call center experience
