Payroll and Accounts Payable Administrator

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll and Accounts Payable Administrator to join our finance team. This vital role combines payroll management, accounts payable processing, and financial recordkeeping to ensure accurate and timely compensation for employees and seamless handling of vendor payments. Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits administration
  • Enter and verify data entries related to payroll transactions, employee hours, and benefits in various HRIS platforms
  • Reconcile payroll accounts by reviewing general ledger entries, journal entries, debits & credits, and performing account reconciliations
  • Process accounts payable transactions efficiently by reviewing invoices, preparing payments through accounting software like QuickBooks or Ceridian, and maintaining vendor records
  • Handle accounts receivable activities when applicable, including invoicing and collections to support organizational cash flow
  • Maintain compliance with tax regulations by preparing tax filings related to payroll and vendor payments
  • Conduct detailed analysis of payroll data and financial reports to identify discrepancies or errors and implement corrective actions
  • Assist with governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed
  • Support bookkeeping tasks such as double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and month-end closing processes
  • Collaborate with human resources on benefits administration and employee data management within HRIS systems

Experience

  • Proven experience in payroll management using systems like Workday, ADP, Paychex or UltiPro
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation
  • Familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms for bookkeeping and accounts payable processing
  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate accounting practices with exposure to governmental or non-profit accounting preferred
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately
  • Experience working with HRIS systems for benefits administration and employee data management is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform high-volume data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills or similar tools
  • Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll and vendor payments is an advantage

Pay: $58,678.88 - $63,114.89 per year
