Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Eden, NC (in person)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Pay based on experience)

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for processing driver payroll, handling accounts payable, and supporting daily administrative and accounting functions. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with numbers, and willing to learn industry-specific tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process weekly driver payroll accurately and on time

- Assist accounts payable, including entering and paying invoices

- Track and reconcile fuel expenses and receipts

- Assist with truck tags, registrations, and related documentation

- Maintain organized financial records and files

- Communicate with drivers and vendors regarding pay and invoices

- Support general office and accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in payroll, accounts payable, or bookkeeping preferred

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Basic computer skills (Excel, email, accounting software a plus)

- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

- Willingness to learn trucking/transportation-related processes
