We are seeking a Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist who takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly with clients and colleagues, and can operate independently without hand‑holding. This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, dependable, and comfortable explaining financial processes in a way clients understand.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing payroll for multiple companies
• Verifying payroll taxes are paid on-time
• Preparing & filing quarterly and annual payroll reports
• Reconciling books for multiple companies
• Cleaning up accounting at year-end
• Communicating professionally with clients regarding their payroll & books
• Work efficiently in various software and cloud‑based systems
• Maintain organized workpapers, documentation, and clear notes to support review and continuity
• Demonstrate ownership of assigned work and respond constructively to feedback

Requirements

• 1 year of hands‑on payroll and bookkeeping experience
• Strong understanding of general accounting concepts
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate professionally through remote platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment

Location: Flexible

• This position is ideally in‑office. Hybrid or fully remote flexibility may be offered to candidates who are proven self‑starters, maintain consistent accountability, and can provide references confirming successful prior remote work.

Compensation: Starting at $20 per hour, depending on experience. Over-time may be required during busy seasons.
