Full-time or Part-time Bookkeeper

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day payroll

processing and accounts payable functions. This role is essential to maintaining accurate

financial records and ensuring timely payments to both employees and vendors. The ideal

candidate is highly organized, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently in a

deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Process weekly payroll for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and part-time staff
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and direct deposit information
  • Calculate and remit payroll taxes, garnishments, and benefit deductions
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns (941, 940, state and local filings) and year-end W-2s
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with management on time and attendance records, PTO accruals, and leave balances

Accounts Payable

  • Review, code, and process vendor invoices for payment in accordance with company policies
  • Manage the full AP cycle: invoice receipt, approval routing, payment processing, and filing
  • Schedule and execute check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate vendor records
  • Monitor AP aging reports and communicate outstanding items to management

General Bookkeeping

  • Assist with month-end close procedures, including account reconciliations
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records
  • Support management with ad hoc reporting as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience with a focus on payroll and/or accounts payable
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage or similar) and Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of payroll regulations, tax withholding requirements, and wage and hour laws
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
