Payroll Clerk

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management, technical accounting, and human resources practices. The Payroll Clerk will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records and supporting the overall efficiency of the payroll department. This role requires extensive knowledge of QuickBooks desktop. QuickBooks online knowledge a plus. Applicants without previous Payroll or QuickBooks experience will not be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
• Maintain employee records related to payroll, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits enrollment.
• Perform end of month and end of quarter reconciliation and assist with scheduling funding as need to appropriate agencies.
• Prepare reports on payroll as needed.
• Assist in audits related to payroll processes and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Stay updated on changes in financial concepts and regulations affecting payroll processing.

Experience

• Proven experience in payroll management or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with technical accounting principles and corporate accounting practices is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of general ledger reconciliation processes is beneficial.
