Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Clerk to join our administrative team. The ideal candidate will possess strong payroll management skills, technical proficiency with payroll and accounting software, and a thorough understanding of financial concepts related to payroll processing. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our healthcare facility by ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration.
Duties
- Process employee payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro.
- Maintain detailed records of hours worked, wage adjustments, benefits administration, and tax information.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries and account reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Manage data entry tasks related to payroll transactions while maintaining data integrity within HRIS systems like Kronos or PeopleSoft.
- Assist in benefits administration by processing enrollments, changes, and terminations for employees.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes related to payroll expenses and employee reimbursements.
- Collaborate with the human resources team to ensure accurate employee information updates and compliance with company policies.
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll management within a healthcare or non-profit organization preferred.
- Proficiency with payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to benefits administration, taxes, and governmental accounting standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills.
- Knowledge of human resources processes including HRIS systems and benefits management.
- Experience working with accounting software like QuickBooks or Ceridian is advantageous.
