Payroll Clerk III

Pay Rate: $25.80 to $30.35 per hour

Purpose of Position:

This is a lead position in the Central Payroll Dept. Analyzes and supports payroll tax filing coordinates and executes routine payroll audits prior to check printing – evaluate the need for additional report audits; reconcile the Payroll and GL systems each week; examines, reconciles and validates GL payroll account activity (AAW’s)misc.; performs other payroll processing as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Executes timekeeping and pre-payroll audits; analyzes results and engages with business partners to address any discrepancies.
  • Process payroll tax returns and/or support evaluation of payroll tax returns processed by third party vendor
  • Process additional payroll inputs outside of timekeeping, through import or entry
  • Perform payroll pre-check and post check audits to drive compliance and pay integrity.
  • Process and print instant checks, wage adjustments, stop payments, voids, Affidavit of Forgery cases, and other payroll check related transactions.
  • Complete/reconcile AAW’s (Account Analysis Reconciliations GL)
  • Reconcile positive pay exceptions with the banks.
  • BDC- GL Balancing

Miscellaneous payroll-related processes sick coordination, deduction input, void checks in both UKG & SAP; process payments to 3rd Parties,; manage deduction setups, Salary Class changes; research, Labor reporting distribution, Company to Company transfers, SSN # and Name changes support Pay Card program administration

Additional Functions:

  • Participate in year-end processing, W-2’s, company vehicle analysis and input, relocation analysis and input work with miscellaneous auditors as needed.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree + 2 years of Payroll experience
  • High School Diploma + 5 years of Payroll experience
  • Must be literate in Excel
  • Strong service orientation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems under pressure, ability to engage and support all levels of management and have assertive nature to explore new payroll technologies.
  • Must have organizational skills, be detail oriented, and 10-key by touch.
  • Knowledge of UKG Pro and People Center, UKG Workforce Management, and SAP helpful.
  • Must be able to Lift up to 25 lbs. (e.g., a box of copy paper).
