Overview:
The Payroll Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees within the organization. They are responsible for managing all aspects of payroll administration, including data entry, verification, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.
Principle Accountabilities:
Prepare, submit and analyze payroll information meeting stipulated standards and deadlines
Generate and ensure that all payroll accounting entries are recorded timely and accurately
Reconcile payroll accounts in a timely manner; action outstanding items immediately or within 30 days
Stay updated on and ensure compliance with regulatory framework in each territory for which payroll is computed
Ensure that all payroll requirements are met for internal and external audit purposes
Ensure that all payroll authorizations are in compliance with the relevant Authority Matrix
Ensure that all payroll documents are secured to adhere to strict levels of confidentiality
Provide backup support as required to other Payroll personnel in the Group
Complete periodic validation audits on personnel and associated records
Adhere to HSSE standards and guidelines
Coordinate with P&C department to ensure accurate employee data and changes are reflected in payroll
Qualification Requirements:
Minimum of 2 CAPE certificates, one of which should be in Accounting and 3 years experience or;
Associate Degree in Accounting or;
Foundation level of a recognized Accounting qualification (such as ACCA, CGA, etc.) or Association of Accounting Technicians qualification and 3 years experience or;
University degree in Accounting.
Other Competency Requirements:
Thorough understanding of payroll principles, procedures and regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational, time-management and analytical skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity, discretion and professionalism.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong team orientation balanced with the ability to work autonomously where required.
Other Information:
In addition to basic salary the successful applicant shall receive applicable job grade allowances and be eligible to participate in The Sol Group Pension Scheme and its non-contributory Group Health and Life Insurance Scheme.
Travel will be required.
