WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As the Payroll Director you will manage the payroll team and oversee payroll, payroll tax, wage attachments, payroll systems, payroll software and technologies, and the time management system. The position will ensure that payroll implements and sustains best practices in the execution of all facets of payroll responsibilities and that the payroll function operates with the highest level of integrity and adheres to all applicable company, legal, and regulatory standards. Job duties include but are not limited to:

Coach, develop, and motivate payroll managers and supervisors to proactively ensure a talented, service-oriented, and resourceful Payroll team that sets the tone for organizational values and culture.

Ensure payroll, through departmental structure, staffing, systems design, software deployment, workflows, automation, and system improvements functions at the highest level of efficiency and accuracy reviews recommendations for process enhancements and improvements.

Develop a workforce plan 6-12 months out and ensure team manages the project accordingly.

Knowledgeable in the interfaces of data from payroll software to adjacent software programs.

Provide input into the design and development of company-wide Payroll initiatives and programs to ensure alignment with business needs.

Oversee system compliance on federal, state, and local laws and apply them to the HR Information System (“HRIS”) while working closely with the human resources and compliance teams.

Participates in developing strategic department goals, objectives, and systems, while identifying efforts with the greatest strategic impact.

Oversee and ensure team provides root cause analysis and correct action for all non-routine situations according to the company’s policies and procedures. Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliation procedures.

Review and evaluate payroll systems and procedures; identify and recommend system and procedural changes to increase business efficiencies and reduce risk/loss.

Primary focus on strategic planning and project management.

Undertake project initiatives to help support the organization’s strategic Payroll goals.

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Track project performance, specifically to evaluate the successful completion of short and long-term project goals.

Delegate project tasks based on payroll staff members’ strengths, skill sets and experience levels.

Manage relationships with project stakeholders.
-
Work with senior-level people to generate solutions and implement a course of action through all stages of project management.

Work directly with internal clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.

Perform risk management to minimize project risk.

Prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of the project.

Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.

Aid in vendor contract reviews and negotiations.

Acts as administrator for core HCM software.

Use and continually develop leadership skills.

Performs other functions as needed.
YOUR MUST HAVES:
-
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting or related field.

5 years’ previous experience as a Payroll Manager, accountant, accounting supervisor, manager, or related position or equivalent experience.

Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook. ADP Vantage preferred, but not required.
OUR ENVIRONMENT:
This position is a remoted position based out of your professional home office. This position may require occassional travel for in person meetings, conferences, or other buisness related events. This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on a computer.
