About the Role

The Payroll Specialist will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for a construction-focused organization. This role requires a solid understanding of union rates, fringe benefits, and labor policies. Familiarity with Construction Partner software is preferred but not required. You’ll ensure accurate, timely payroll while supporting compliance across multiple job sites and labor agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for union and non‑union employees using Construction Partner.
• Interpret and apply union contracts, including wage rates, shift differentials, fringe benefits, dues, and working rules.
• Maintain accurate employee records, certifications, and job classifications.
• Reconcile payroll reports, job cost allocations, and labor distribution.
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports (e.g., Davis‑Bacon, state/local requirements).
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries with clarity and professionalism.
• Collaborate with HR, project managers, and accounting to ensure accurate labor coding and compliance.
• Support audits, year‑end processing, and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of payroll experience, ideally in construction or a unionized environment.
• Hands-on experience with Construction Partner (or similar construction ERP/payroll systems).
• Strong understanding of union wage structures, collective bargaining agreements, and prevailing wage requirements.
• High accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Excel and payroll reporting tools.
• Ability to interpret labor laws, union rules, and certified payroll requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Davis‑Bacon, certified payroll, and public works reporting.
• FPC or CPP certification (optional but valued).
