We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PCA (Personal Care Assistant)/Med Tech (Medical Technician) to join our vibrant assisted living community. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, adhering to medical documentation standards.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and tube feeding procedures.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient care activities thoroughly and accurately.
- Perform basic nursing tasks including catheter care, wound dressing, and assisting with medical procedures under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care that aligns with physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medical terminology.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards specific to assisted living facilities.
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes; hospital experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of senior care practices, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, hospice, and home & community care settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with a genuine passion for working with individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions.
- Ability to perform medical procedures such as tube feeding, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, catheter care, and basic anatomy/physiology knowledge.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with healthcare teams and family members while maintaining professionalism.
