PCB Solder Technician – IPC / PCBA Assembly

Job Summary

Naden is seeking a PCB Solder Technician (PCBA Technician) to support the assembly of high-reliability electronic assemblies used in aerospace and defense applications.

This role focuses on hand soldering, inspection, and rework of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience working with circuit board assemblies, strong soldering skills, and familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.

The right candidate takes pride in precision work, understands high-reliability electronics, and is comfortable working from engineering documentation and assembly procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hand soldering of through-hole and surface mount components on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
  • Conduct rework, repair, and modification of circuit board assemblies as required
  • Inspect solder joints and assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Handle electronic components using proper ESD procedures
  • Perform component installation, removal, and replacement on PCB assemblies
  • Support functional testing and troubleshooting of assembled boards
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate production records
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience assembling or soldering printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
  • Experience with hand soldering of both through-hole and surface mount components
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 standards
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics, and technical work instructions
  • Experience working with ESD-sensitive electronics
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work independently and follow precise manufacturing procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current IPC certification (IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001)
  • Experience with high-reliability electronics (aerospace, defense, or space hardware)
  • Experience performing PCB rework and repair
  • Familiarity with microscope soldering and inspection
  • Technical training, vocational certification, or electronics coursework

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Excellent fine motor skills for precision soldering
  • Ability to handle small electronic components
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
