PCEI: Moscow Adventure Club Outdoor Science Educator

GAIN VALUABLE EXPERIENCE TEACHING KIDS ABOUT NATURE! The Outdoor Science Educator will develop/gather nature-based lessons & activities targeting K-5th graders. The position will run for at least 450 hours over a period of 3 months, encompassing summer program months. The lessons developed by the member will be a combination of science exploration, arts & crafts, & games focused on the natural environment. Most hours will involve creating and implementing these lessons, the remaining hours will be spent supervising students in recreation & STEAM activities & maintaining the school site. The member will be involved in planning/leading outdoor science field trips during the summer program REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age; Must be U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident; Must possess high school diploma or equivalent; Must be fluent in English; Must be able to commit to the full term of service; Must successfully pass fingerprint criminal history background check; Must have cooperative manner & ability to serve as part of a diverse team; Must have regular & reliable attendance & dependability. PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of biology, geology, and/or natural resources; Experience working w/children grades kindergarten through fifth; Communicate w/clarity & conciseness to individuals/groups; Convey respect, assistance & resourcefulness in a friendly manner; Complete assignments in timely fashion.
