The PDI Specialist is responsible for inspecting and servicing new vehicles, ensuring they are in salable condition. Key responsibilities include:
- Inspecting vehicles for obvious damage and missing major components.
- Checking for loose or misaligned items such as trim, doors, and hardware.
- Performing repairs and replacements with efficiency and accuracy.
- Documenting warranty repairs and ensuring they are properly charged.
- Testing steering, brakes, transmission, and engine operation.
- Activating power equipment like electric windows, seats, radio, horn, lights, and directional signals.
- Inspecting surfaces for minor chips and scratches in paint.
- Touching up imperfections using brush applicator and factory-supplied matching paint.
- Installing optional equipment specified by the customer or dealer.
- Installing standard components and pouring antifreeze into the radiator.
- Tuning the engine using technicians' tools and test equipment.
- Installing or repairing major mechanical, hydraulic, or electromechanical equipment.
