Job Purpose
The PEB Erection Supervisor is responsible for supervising and executing the safe, accurate, and timely erection of pre-engineered steel structures at project sites, in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations, ensuring smooth project execution up to completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities. Erection & Site Supervision
- Supervise erection of steel structures, including columns, rafters, beams, bracing, purlins, girts, and accessories.
- Ensure erection activities are carried out strictly as per approved PEB drawings, erection plans, BOQs, and method statements.
- Monitor and control the erection sequence and daily work activities to achieve planned targets.
- Check alignment, levelling, plumbing, and bolting of all structural members.
2. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Read, understand, and interpret structural, erection, and fabrication drawings.
- Identify drawing discrepancies and coordinate with engineering and project teams for clarification and resolution.
- Provide on-site technical guidance and solutions for erection-related issues.
3. Team & Resource Coordination
- Coordinate with site supervisors, riggers, crane operators, and labour teams to ensure efficient workflow.
- Plan daily manpower, equipment, and crane requirements.
- Coordinate with fabrication, dispatch, and project management teams for material availability and site readiness.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with safety rules, approved lifting plans, PPE usage, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct and participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and hazard identification activities.
- Ensure safe crane operations, lifting methods, and proper use of tools and tackle.
- Report unsafe acts, near-misses, and incidents immediately as per company safety procedures.
5. Quality Control
- Ensure erection quality meets company standards, client specifications, and applicable codes.
- Verify proper tightening of bolts, use of correct fasteners, and erection tolerances.
- Assist in inspections by clients, consultants, and internal quality teams.
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit daily progress reports, including erection status, manpower, crane usage, and material consumption.
- Report site issues, delays, shortages, and technical challenges to the Project Manager.
- Maintain site records related to erection activities and coordination.
7. Project Completion & Handover
- Assist in achieving project milestones, completion, and rectification of punch list items.
- Support final inspections, documentation, and smooth handover of the project to the client.
- Ensure demobilisation of manpower and equipment after completion.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of PEB structures and steel erection methods.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and erection drawings.
- Basic understanding of cranes, lifting plans, rigging practices, and site safety.
- Good communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.
- Practical problem-solving ability to handle on-site technical challenges.
- Awareness of construction safety norms and quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / ITI / Graduate in Civil, Mechanical, or relevant field (preferred).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in PEB or steel structure erection projects.
- Experience working with cranes and large steel components will be an advantage.
