The Pediatric Dentist is responsible for providing high-quality dental care to infants, children, and adolescents, including patients with special healthcare needs. The role focuses on preventive and restorative oral care, behavior management, and patient education, ensuring a comfortable and positive dental experience for young patients in accordance with DHA regulations and clinic standards.

Responsibilities-

Clinical Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat oral health conditions in pediatric patients.
• Provide preventive dental services such as fluoride applications, sealants, and oral hygiene education.
• Perform restorative procedures, including fillings, crowns, pulp therapy, and extractions.
• Manage dental trauma and pediatric dental emergencies.
• Apply behavioural management techniques and ensure a child-friendly approach during all treatments.
• Administer local anesthesia and sedation as per DHA safety protocols.
• Monitor oral growth and development and refer patients to orthodontic specialists when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with DHA documentation standards.

Patient & Parent Communication

• Educate parents and children on oral hygiene, diet, and preventive dental care.
• Discuss treatment plans and post-operative care clearly and empathetically.
• Manage children’s dental anxiety and ensure a calm, supportive environment.

Clinic Operations & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with DHA infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with dental assistants, hygienists, and other specialists.
• Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on pediatric dentistry advancements.
• Ensure all clinical procedures are performed to the highest standard of safety and ethics.

Job Specifications-

• Educational Qualifications- Master’s Degree (MDS / MSc / Specialty Diploma) in Pediatric Dentistry from a recognized university or Western educated.
• Expertise in child behaviour management, preventive care, and restorative procedures.
• Familiarity with digital dentistry tools and radiography systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and parents.
• Private dental clinic or pediatric dental center.
• May require flexible work hours, including evenings or weekends.
• Must adhere to Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Ministry of Health regulations.
• Arabic Language is preferred
