Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic pediatric care team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive healthcare services to children with evidence based medical care with awareness for individual patient's unique presentations. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for pediatric health, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within our office team. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care that promotes healthy growth and development for our young patients. The right candidate will be available 24-32 hours a week from Monday to Friday, no weekends or evenings.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments of pediatric patients, including infants, toddlers and adolescents.
  • Diagnose and manage common pediatric illnesses and chronic conditions with evidence-based practices.
  • Administer vaccinations, injections, and perform suturing as needed during clinical procedures.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Office Practicum to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with specialists in areas such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, behavioral health when necessary for comprehensive patient management.
  • Provide patient education on topics like nutrition, vaccinations, developmental milestones, medication administration, and injury prevention.
  • Participate in office quality improvement projects to enhance pediatric care standards.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with valid state licensure with minimum 2 years of direct pediatric provider experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children in clinical settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, or urgent care centers.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems; telehealth experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Experience with medical procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Familiarity with CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and billing practices related to pediatric care.
  • Ability to handle acute pain management cases and participate in triage activities effectively.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality and data security at all times.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
