Job Summary
We are looking for a People and Culture Specialist to join our HR team and own the full People and Culture function end-to-end. This role is a key partner, responsible for building and running employee experience programs, performance management, engagement, learning and development, and HR policies.
Note: We have dedicated HR team members handling mass hiring, government-related processes, and payroll/salaries. This role will coordinate closely with them but will not own those areas.
Key Targets and KPIs
- Reduce turnover by up to 70 percent by improving employee experience, manager capability, and retention initiatives
- Improve employee engagement score through structured measurement and action plans
- Increase probation pass rate through stronger onboarding, clear evaluation criteria, and manager follow-up
- Ensure performance cycle completion with full compliance across all departments (goal setting, mid reviews, end reviews)
Responsibilities
People Experience and Culture
- Own onboarding and probation journey, including checklists, templates, orientation, and follow-up with managers.
- Design a consistent employee experience framework from day 1 to exit (lifecycle management).
- Lead employee engagement initiatives: pulse surveys, recognition programs, team activities, and action plans.
- Create and own internal communication cadence related to HR and culture initiatives.
- Build a culture calendar (monthly rituals, celebrations, learning sessions, townhalls when needed).
- Retention and Turnover Reduction
- Build a retention plan with clear drivers: compensation benchmarking coordination, career paths, manager coaching, recognition, workload and role clarity.
- Run structured exit interviews and monthly attrition analysis with root causes and corrective actions.
- Implement stay interviews for key roles and top performers and create targeted retention actions.
- Partner with managers to reduce early attrition (first 90 days) through stronger onboarding and check-ins.
- Probation Management and Early Performance
- Define probation evaluation framework with clear criteria per role and department.
- Ensure 30-60-90 day check-ins are completed and documented with managers.
- Track probation outcomes, reasons for failure, and corrective improvements in onboarding and role clarity.
Performance Management
- Run performance management cycles (goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end reviews).
- Ensure full completion and documentation of performance cycles and calibrate with leadership.
- Support managers with feedback practices, coaching, and performance improvement plans.
- Build and maintain competency frameworks and role expectations across departments.
- Create simple templates: goal sheet, review form, 1:1 form, PIP form, development plan.
Learning and Development
- Conduct training needs assessments and propose learning plans per department.
- Build annual and quarterly training calendar aligned to business goals.
- Coordinate internal trainings and external providers and track completion and outcomes.
- Support leadership in developing high-potential employees and succession readiness.
- Launch manager enablement sessions (how to lead, feedback, performance conversations, onboarding).
Employee Relations and HR Operations
- Be the main point of contact for employee relations, issues, and conflict resolution.
- Own discipline process alignment, grievance handling, and HR case documentation.
- Manage leaves, attendance discipline alignment, and ensure fair and consistent application.
- Create and update HR policies, employee handbook, and SOPs and ensure adoption.
- Ensure accurate employee files, documentation standards, and HR audit readiness.
Reporting and HR Analytics
- Track key HR metrics: turnover, retention, engagement score, probation pass rate, performance cycle completion, training completion.
- Publish a monthly HR dashboard and insights report with actions and owners.
- Build simple HR scorecards by department and identify risk areas early.
Requirements
- 2 to 4+ years of experience in HR Generalist, People and Culture, or Employee Experience roles.
- Experience in fast-paced environments (eCommerce, retail, FMCG, tech, logistics) is a plus.
- Strong experience in onboarding, performance management, engagement, and policy creation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to operate independently.
- Comfortable operating as the sole People and Culture owner while collaborating with other HR owners.
