Summary/Objective

The People Operations Generalist / Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing daily HR operations and overseeing payroll processes to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery. This hybrid role plays a key part in supporting employee lifecycle activities, administering company policies, and managing end-to-end payroll operations.

Department Duties

  • Support the onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientations and exit interviews.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Administer employee benefits programs (healthcare, retirement, leave, etc.).
  • Assist in policy implementation, performance management, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Handle employee relations issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
  • Support training and development initiatives and track compliance training.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Identify barriers and bottlenecks to drive improvement.
  • Conduct daily meetings, one on one, and address performance gaps daily.
  • Communicate across various departments and at all levels within the company.
  • Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
  • Review and verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax reports and assist with year-end tax processes (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
  • Maintain payroll records in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with Finance/Accounting for payroll-related reporting and reconciliation
  • Ensures all performance, safety and quality policies/procedures are met for various departments through effective standard operating procedures.
  • Hires, develops, coaches and advises warehouse leaders to support and lead employees by living and demonstrating Wild Republic’s values and leadership expectations.
Requirements:

  • Understand and execute the principles of the Participate in cross-functional teams as required to advance the business interests of the company
  • Compliance with all company and regulatory policies/guidelines relating to associate safety, and product quality

Required Education and Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Preferred 3 to 5 years’ experience
  • Proficient in office skills to include computer (MS Office Suite, MS NAV)
  • Must be able to handle confidential matters
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law, and payroll compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
