Per Diem Medical Transportation Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Per Diem Medical Transportation Driver to provide reliable, safe, and compassionate transportation services for patients requiring medical appointments, treatments, or other health-related travel needs. Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of vehicles including shuttle buses, limousines, and other commercial vehicles to transport patients and clients.
• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous and respectful customer service at all times.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness, perform routine maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure optimal safety.
• Navigate efficiently using GPS or maps, adhering to scheduled routes and timeframes while maintaining flexibility for last-minute changes.
• Communicate clearly with dispatchers, patients, and healthcare facilities to coordinate pick-up and drop-off times effectively.
• Handle heavy lifting when assisting patients with mobility challenges or transporting medical equipment safely.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure the safety of passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers.

Experience

• Previous experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or other commercial driving roles is highly preferred.
• Experience with paratransit services or school bus driving is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with passengers and healthcare staff.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues early.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks associated with medical transportation.
• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; clean driving record required. Preferred Availability

Hours of operation 6am-6pm

Preferred days: Thursday and Friday

Minimum availability: 16 hours per week

Typical shift length: 8-10 hours or more

Additional weekday availability is a plus

Weekend trips available

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 per week
