Performance Testing Engineer

We are seeking a Performance Testing Engineer to join our software, system, and test engineering group.

You will engage in various stages of the agile development lifecycle, focusing on performance testing for distributed application systems across multiple platforms. This role involves creating and maintaining test automation, analyzing performance data, and optimizing system performance. Responsibilities

• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives
• Review requirements and maintain performance testing documentation
• Produce high-level and detailed estimates using story points and time estimation
• Document test strategies and develop test plans based on system requirements
• Create and maintain test data sets for performance testing
• Develop and enhance test automation coverage and effectiveness
• Automate performance testing of systems under test
• Participate in project reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections
• Identify opportunities for improvement and promote best practices in performance testing
• Provide recommendations for performance tuning of applications

Requirements

• Experience of 3 to 6 years in performance testing
• Knowledge of agile development lifecycle and participation in agile ceremonies
• Background in testing distributed application systems across web interfaces, web services (REST), and backend servers
• Skills in writing performance tests and scripts using JMeter
• Proficiency in Java programming language
• Experience using UNIX/Linux, web, and database performance monitoring tools
• Capability to create automation scripts and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or Bamboo
• Understanding of monitoring tools including Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, and InfluxDB with integration skills
• Expertise in database monitoring and query optimization techniques
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Competency in mentoring peers and leading technical discussions
• Experience working with databases and tools such as Oracle, Oracle SQL Developer, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, and Flyway
• Familiarity with Unix shell scripting
• Experience working on AWS platforms
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills (B2+)
