Job purpose:

The Performance Testing Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and executing performance testing activities to ensure application stability, scalability, and reliability under varying workloads. The role involves creating and maintaining performance test scripts, executing different types of performance tests, analyzing results, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop performance test scripts using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or similar performance testing tools.
• Execute load, stress, spike, and endurance performance tests to evaluate system performance under different load conditions.
• Develop and maintain reusable performance testing scripts and components.
• Monitor test executions and analyze performance metrics including response time, throughput, CPU usage, memory utilization, and system latency.
• Identify and analyze performance bottlenecks in applications, APIs, databases, or infrastructure components.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports including observations, bottleneck analysis, and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• Assist in defining performance test scenarios and workload models based on application usage patterns.
• Support the setup and configuration of performance testing environments and test data preparation.
• Contribute to maintaining and improving performance testing frameworks, standards, and best practices within the organization.
• Document performance test cases, execution results, and defects using Jira or other defect management tools.

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience in performance testing, software testing, or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling.
• Good understanding of performance testing methodologies.
• Experience with API performance testing and HTTP-based applications.
• Understanding of system performance metrics such as CPU, memory, throughput, and response time.
• Basic experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
• Ability to write basic to intermediate scripts or code using Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Experience using Jira, Git, or similar collaboration tools.
• ISTQB certification or relevant testing certification is a plus.
