Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health status is maintained and report any concerns promptly
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support residents during meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties within resident rooms and common areas
- Document care activities thoroughly in compliance with facility policies and state regulations, ensuring clear communication among team members
- Drive residents to appointments or outings when required, adhering to safety protocols and traffic laws
- Assist with social engagement activities to foster community participation and emotional well-being
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support techniques, and memory care strategies
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personal support services
- Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of care activities
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is appreciated
- Long-term care or group home experience will strengthen your application
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting using Hoyer lifts or assisting with mobility safely
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
