Personal Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
• Monitor and document patients’ health status by observing overall condition to ensure safety and well-being.
• Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and compliance.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.
• Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to safely assist with mobility and heavy lifting tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning patient areas and shared spaces.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans that address each client’s unique needs, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, or developmental disabilities.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in assisted living, home health care, hospice care, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance is advantageous.
• Familiarity with patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or memory care is essential.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and working with mobility aids like Hoyer lifts safely.
• Strong communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is a plus.

Pay: $15.68 per hour
