Personal Injury Attorney

We are seeking a Licensed Personal Injury Attorney to manage and facilitate legal matters related to personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice and experienced in handling all aspects of personal injury claims. Candidate will work to ensure that clients who have suffered injuries due to accidents or negligence receive appropriate compensation from responsible parties. The primary focus of this role is to negotiate settlements, coordinate with insurance companies, and litigate cases if a settlement cannot be reached.

Responsibilities:

Negotiation and Settlement:

  • Determine liability and identify potential parties responsible for the injuries.
  • Communicate and negotiate with insurance companies, opposing attorneys, and other involved parties to reach fair settlements for clients.
  • Evaluate settlement offers and advise clients on the best course of action.
  • Negotiate compensation for medical expenses, property damage, lost wages, pain, and suffering.

Documentation and Case Preparation:

· Prepare and draft demand letters outlining the details of the client's injuries, liability, and damages.

  • Organize and compile evidence, medical records, accident reports, and other pertinent documents to support the case.
  • Calculate damages accurately, considering medical costs, future treatment, lost wages, and other relevant factors.

Client Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on the case's progress and answer any questions.
  • Educate clients about the legal process, their rights, and potential outcomes.
  • Manage client expectations regarding settlement negotiations and potential litigation.

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR):

  • · Explore alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation or arbitration, to achieve efficient and satisfactory outcomes for clients.

Legal Research and Strategy:

  • · Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents related to personal injury cases.
  • Develop effective legal strategies to strengthen clients' claims and maximize compensation.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • · Work closely with other members of the legal team, including paralegals and investigators, to gather information and build a comprehensive case.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, accident reconstruction specialists, and other experts to support the case.

Case Management:

  • · Manage a dedicated POD of paralegals, providing leadership, oversight, and accountability to ensure team efficiency and high-quality casework.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress to maintain deadlines and workflow standards across the team.
  • Work closely with paralegals and investigators to gather information and build comprehensive case strategies.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, accident reconstruction specialists, and other expert witnesses to strengthen case outcomes.

Litigation:

  • Draft - complaint packages, initial discovery, initial disclosures, client discovery responses and objections, pre-trail motions and responses, and jury instructions.
  • Attend- client depositions and/or examinations under oath, uniform motion calendar hearings and/or dispositive motion hearings, compulsory medical examinations, and trial.
  • Conduct – client pre-deposition preparation meetings, fact witness depositions, expert depositions, and mediations.

Qualifications:

· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Understanding of personal injury laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficient in legal research, case management software (ATO and/or Filevine), and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Empathetic and client-focused approach to handling cases.
  • Experience in pre-litigation personal injury work is preferred but not always required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
