We are a boutique personal injury firm in Beverly Hills seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to handle each matter from drafting and filing the complaint through trial.

This is not a document-prep or support role — the attorney will serve as the primary litigator, managing all phases of discovery, motion practice, depositions (including expert witnesses), pre-trial preparation, and trial advocacy.

Core ResponsibilitiesCase Management & Litigation Strategy

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases from filing through resolution.
  • Analyze case value, liability exposure, causation, and damages early to develop an effective litigation roadmap.
  • Draft comprehensive case plans, and discovery timelines.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of case posture for mediation, arbitration, or trial readiness.
  • Maintain detailed case documentation, calendar deadlines, and ensure compliance with all procedural rules.

Pleadings & Motions

  • Draft, review, and file all necessary pleadings, including:
  • Complaints, amendments, and cross-complaints.
  • Answers, demurrers, motions to strike, and related oppositions/replies.
  • Motions to compel discovery, sanctions motions, and motions in limine.
  • Motions for summary judgment/adjudication (both drafting and opposing).
  • Trial briefs, post-trial motions (JNOV, new trial, etc.).
  • Draft and respond to meet and confer letters and separate statements.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and cite to CCP, Evidence Code, and relevant case law.

Discovery

  • Draft, serve, and respond to:
  • Form and special interrogatories
  • Requests for production
  • Requests for admission
  • Subpoenas duces tecum / deposition subpoenas
  • Manage expert and treating physician discovery, including:
  • Expert witness designations, de-designations, and 2034 code compliance.
  • Depositions of biomechanical, orthopedic, and medical experts.
  • Handle all discovery dispute resolution, including informal discovery conferences (IDCs) and court motions.

Depositions & Evidence

  • Conduct and defend party, witness, and expert depositions.
  • Strategically question medical providers, adjusters, and lay witnesses.
  • Prepare your client for deposition and trial testimony.
  • Review and summarize deposition transcripts for use in trial prep and motions.
  • Coordinate evidence collection, exhibits, and trial demonstratives (medical illustrations, life care plans, etc.).

Settlement & Negotiations

  • Prepare and serve CCP §998 Offers to Compromise and negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
  • Attend and argue at mediations, MSCs, and arbitrations.
  • Advise clients throughout negotiation and ensure informed consent for settlement.

Trial Preparation & Trial Work

  • Prepare trial binders, exhibit books, jury instructions, witness outlines, verdict forms, and pre-trial motions.
  • Draft trial briefs, witness lists, exhibit lists, and statement of the case.
  • Participate in voir dire, opening statements, direct and cross-examination, and closing arguments.

  • Handle trial logistics (jury instructions, motions in limine, pre-trial orders, witness scheduling).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active California Bar License in good standing.
  • Minimum 5+ years of litigation experience in personal injury or related tort litigation.
  • Proven experience taking cases from complaint through trial (first or second chair).
  • Excellent command of California Code of Civil Procedure, Evidence Code, and local rules.
  • Ability to manage complex medical evidence, expert testimony, and damages modeling.
  • Exceptional legal writing, oral argument, and courtroom presentation skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of case management software (Casepeer).
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $120,000 – $180,000+ (DOE and trial experience).
  • Bonus Compensation: Settlement-based and verdict-based performance incentives.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
