Position: Personal Injury Paralegal Manager
Location: Houston, TX
Compensation: $125,000 – $190,000 (Full-Time, Onsite)

About the Role

We’re seeking a strategic, service-oriented Director of Paralegals to lead and elevate a high-performing legal support team. This leader will oversee approximately 10 paralegals and 2 team leads, driving operational excellence, cultivating team culture, and ensuring exceptional client service. The ideal candidate thrives on structure, training, and collaboration—bringing both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to support firm growth and efficiency.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of ~10 paralegals and 2 team leads.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Champion servant leadership and model firm values in every interaction.

Training & Professional Growth

  • Develop a structured, tiered paralegal advancement program with certification levels.
  • Design and implement the January training program rollout.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions, team trainings, and skill-building workshops.

Performance & Quality Oversight

  • Define and track KPIs related to file progress, compliance, client communication, and trial readiness.
  • Ensure performance reports maintain 90%+ compliance.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve team performance metrics.

Client Experience

  • Guarantee timely updates and follow-ups for every client.
  • Manage the 60-day attorney check-in cadence to enhance communication and trust.

File & Workflow Management

  • Oversee case setup, audit deadlines, and monitor checklist progression in Filevine, ClickUp, and Needles.
  • Maintain trial prep standards and ensure workflow consistency across all cases.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner with leadership, HR, and Operations on staffing, onboarding, and SOP development.
  • Support seamless rollout of new paralegals, workflows, and systems.

Focus Groups & Case Insights

  • Coordinate focus group scheduling and document key takeaways to support case preparation.

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Drive adoption and optimization of Filevine, ClickUp, Office 365, and workflow templates.
  • Build and refine SOPs and document templates to boost efficiency and quality.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 8–10+ years in legal operations or paralegal management.
  • 2+ years leading multiple paralegal teams (personal injury or litigation experience preferred).

Leadership Style

  • Proven track record of reducing turnover, building trust, and growing future leaders.

  • Skilled at creating training programs, certifications, and SOPs from the ground up.

  • Deep understanding of litigation workflows and timelines.

Technical Proficiency

  • Hands-on experience with Filevine, ClickUp, Office 365, and reporting dashboards.
  • Comfortable implementing workflow automation and data-driven performance tools.

Communication Skills

  • Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Empathetic and skilled in de-escalation and client relationship management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
