The Position
Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) is currently recruiting for a Personnel Analyst 1 to support Lake's Crossing Center (LCC), located in Sparks, Nevada. LCC is Northern Nevada's maximum-security forensic psychiatric facility, providing services to clients with mental disabilities involved in the criminal justice system. This position sits in the DPBH Human Resources office located on the campus of Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services and plays a vital role in managing human resources operations, key responsibilities include consulting with staff and management at all levels on employee relations matters; researching and applying laws, statutes, regulations, policies, and protocols; conducting audits; and maintaining personnel files, databases, and records. The Personnel Analyst also provides guidance on federal and state employment regulations, participates in grievance resolution and disciplinary actions, and advises on employee benefits and protections such as workers' compensation, FMLA, ADA, and catastrophic leave. Additional duties include developing HR protocols and procedures, reviewing classification and compensation issues, and preparing reports using Microsoft Excel, Word, Office 365, OneDrive, and SharePoint. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years of experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
