Pet Sitter/Dog Walker

Job Summary
4 Pawz Forward is looking for a compassionate, dependable animal lover to join our team as a Dog Walker & Pet Sitter. The ideal candidate is someone who understands canine body language, has experience working with a variety of dogs, and is committed to providing safe, personalized care. You’ll be responsible for giving dogs the exercise, structure, and companionship they need while keeping their safety and emotional well-being a top priority.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs of various sizes and energy levels in all weather conditions
• Safely manage individual or small group walks with calm, consistent handling
• Reinforce basic training and polite leash manners during walks
• Monitor the health and behavior of pets and report concerns promptly
• Maintain open, respectful communication with pet parents
• Provide pet sitting services including feeding, potty breaks, and companionship
• Occasionally assist with larger or mobility-challenged dogs
• Ensure all gear (leashes, collars, harnesses) is safe and properly fitted

Preferred Experience

Applicants with any of the following will stand out:

• Dog training knowledge or hands-on experience using positive reinforcement
• Pet care experience (grooming, walking, sitting, daycare, etc.)
• Animal handling skills (vet tech/assistant, shelter work, or similar roles)
• Comfort with dogs who may be shy, excited, or reactive
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Experience with other animals (cats, horses, small pets) is a plus

About the Job

• Part-time, flexible hours
• Most work takes place at clients’ homes (locations vary)
• Pay ranges from $15–$106 per job, depending on service type
