Petrophysicist – Dallas, TX
DeGolyer and MacNaughton (D&M) is seeking a Petrophysicist to join our multidisciplinary subsurface team. The successful candidate will contribute to advanced subsurface characterization and petrophysical evaluations in support of global oil and gas and energy transition projects. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and grow technical capabilities in a highly collaborative environment.
- Perform petrophysical evaluations of well and core data across multiple projects and reservoir types.
- Integrate petrophysical interpretations with geological, geophysical, and reservoir engineering data to support field development and reserves assessment.
- Assist in developing and implementing formation evaluation workflows using modern logging and core analysis techniques.
- Conduct quality checks on logging programs, data acquisition, and interpretation results.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal teams and clients.
- Collaborate closely with senior petrophysicists and cross-discipline experts to deliver consistent and high-quality technical outputs.
- Proficiency in SLB Techlog and related industry-standard petrophysical software.
- Solid understanding of log analysis, porosity–permeability relationships, and mineralogical modeling.
- Experience working with core and SCAL data to validate and refine log-based interpretations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to technical detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petrophysics, Geoscience, or Petroleum Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in petrophysical analysis, preferably with exposure to a variety of reservoir settings.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technical data and deliver clear, concise interpretations.
- U.S. work authorization required.
- Role based in Dallas, Texas (hybrid work model).
