Position supports the pharmacy by accurately preparing, packaging, and labeling prescription medications, ensuring each order is complete and ready for final pharmacist verification, and dispensing medications while keeping the pharmacy running smoothly. Role blends direct patient interaction with behind-the-scenes technical and administrative work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Work involves potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, cytotoxic agents, and drug powders or aerosols; employees must comply with USP, OSHA and organizational policies, including initial and ongoing training, to minimize occupational exposure and environmental contamination.
This position supports the pharmacy in safely and accurately dispensing medications while ensuring the pharmacy operates efficiently and compliantly. Role bridges clinical decision-making by the pharmacist with timely, accurate medication preparation, patient support and administrative processing so that patients receive the right medication, in the right dose, at the right time.
Essential functions are the primary duties/main job responsibilities that an incumbent must be able to perform, with or without accommodation. Key accountability areas include prescription processing, medication distribution and inventory management, patient service and communication, billing, insurance and records management, and safety and compliance.
Minimum Education Level Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor of Pharmacy preferred. Active unrestricted Florida Board of Pharmacy license. Certification preferred and expected within 12 months of hire.
Minimum Experience Level Required: Minimum two years pharmacy technician experience. Immunization administration certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire.

Indoor pharmacy environment with routine exposure to medications, including controlled substances (such as opioids) and hazardous drugs (including chemotherapy and other NIOSH-listed agents), and requires strict adherence to all safety, PPE, and handling protocols.
Occasional work outdoors exposed to elements.
Frequent performance of position duties while standing and walking and otherwise in motion.
Frequent computer use at a workstation up to two hours or more at a time.
Frequently fast-paced work with unscheduled interruptions.
Work may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet patient care demands.
Some public contact requiring business-appropriate apparel and/or occasional use of personal protective equipment.
