Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a high-energy, reliable Pharmacy Technician for our busy retail location. This role requires a "floor-ready" professional who is already proficient in PrimeRx. In our retail setting, you are the face of the pharmacy; we need someone who can balance technical accuracy in the lab with excellent service at the counter.

Core Retail Responsibilities

• Workflow Management: Efficiently move prescriptions through the "To-Fill" queue using PrimeRx, ensuring priority is given to "waiters" and acute medications.
• Front-End : Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions, verify patient identities per HIPAA, and handle cash/credit payments accurately.
• Third-Party Adjudication: Resolve insurance rejections (Prior Auths, Refill Too Soon, RTS, and Coordination of Benefits) directly within the PrimeRx interface.
• Clinical Tasks: Assist the pharmacist with non-discretionary duties, including counting, labeling, and reconstitution of oral liquids.
• Inventory Control: Check in daily wholesaler orders, manage "Return to Stock" (RTS) bottles, and monitor for expiring medications.
• Doctor Office Communication: Professional outreach to clinics for refill authorizations and clarification of illegible orders.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with PrimeRx (Micro Merchant Systems) is a non-negotiable requirement. We need a candidate who can navigate this system independently on day one.
• Licensure: Valid NYS Pharmacy Technician Registration is not required.
• Retail Experience: Minimum 1 year in a community/retail pharmacy setting.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and work in a fast-paced environment.
