Billing and Data Entry Specialist – Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing and Data Entry Specialist with a Pharmacy Technician background to join our team. This position is responsible for accurate data entry, insurance claim processing, billing reconciliation, and supporting the pharmacy team in ensuring timely and compliant reimbursement for prescription services.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain accurate prescription, patient, and insurance information into pharmacy management systems.
• Process third-party insurance claims, including submissions, rejections, and resubmissions.
• Verify insurance eligibility and resolve billing discrepancies with payers.
• Reconcile daily transactions, payments, and claim adjustments.
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with all HIPAA, state, and federal regulations.
• Generate and review billing reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support pharmacy operations with inventory, data audits, and administrative documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and other staff to ensure smooth workflow and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Required: Active Pharmacy Technician License/Registration in Florida.
• Preferred: Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in pharmacy billing, data entry, or claims processing.
• Strong computer proficiency with pharmacy software (MicroMerchant/PrimeRx)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Monday - Friday (8-hour shifts)

Saturdays closed.

Sundays as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
