Data Entry Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a full-time Data Entry Pharmacy Technician who brings attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently enter prescription information into pharmacy systems.
  • Verify patient, prescriber, and medication details to ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Communicate with pharmacists to clarify prescription information and resolve data entry discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records within pharmacy software systems.
  • Support departmental goals for accuracy, productivity, and turnaround time.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and quality control efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members in Fulfillment, Customer Service to ensure seamless operations.
  • Adhere to company policies, HIPAA, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Reports To: Lead Data Entry Pharmacy Technician
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an Ohio Board of Pharmacy approved pharmacy technician training program.
  • Licensure: Registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as either a Registered Technician or as a Certified Technician
  • Certification: PTCB certification preferred
  • Experience: Previous experience in Data Entry, preferably in a hospital or specialty pharmacy setting such as compounding. Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a related healthcare role is beneficial.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry of compounded medications and documentation.
    • Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, dilutions, and measurements.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow our compliance standards.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Answer and triage incoming phone calls, providing accurate information and directing inquiries to the appropriate team member promptly and professionally.
